Mimi Pambo has Launched!
Our About Us page briefly outlines the conception of Mimi Pambo and how we started. But let me tell you how it actually happened.
First off, we started our launch day countdown on Friday June 18th and are set to launch on Monday June the 21st. It's a thrilling experience in the same way that it is terrifying. To put things into perspective, Mimi Pambo is like a complex machine that has about twenty, no- twenty five different parts. My job is to know how all the different parts work. To make sure they work, and most importantly, to over see their working at the same time. Because parts of a machine work in tandem.
This role has been extremely exciting. Intrinsically, I am one of those builder type people who enjoys creating things from nothing. Mimi Pambo is exactly that. We started out as an idea whose heart was a deep missing and love for home. Anyone who has been away from home knows that when you leave, you feel sort of bereft and separated from your roots. When you come back for the first time, it's like taking that first cool deep breath after you walk out of a sauna where the air was a tad bit too hot. It's refreshing, it's grounding, it's almost life altering. In my case, it is life altering.
I felt that I needed to share this beauty of home that I was experiencing with the rest of the world. Between the years of 2018 to 2020, I went through this craze that I called a brass phase. Having been a lover of silver items and not really thinking that the color gold suited my skin tone, I suddenly awoke to a realisation that I had missed out on something magnificent. So, I went on this phase where I bought a lot of brass jewelry and accessories. My friends and lovers knowing this, fueled my craze and grew my collection. When I came back home, still in this phase, I was surprised to find the best options for brass accessories that I had seen in the close to two years that I had been away.
So, in a brief moment of fear and absolute brevity, I decided I was going to bottle that feeling- of connection to home but also of awe and beauty- and then, I was going to bring it to you.
So, in a sense, I hope that over time, Mimi Pambo starts to feel like home to you. To feel familiar and grounding. And that you trust that here, you will always feel beautiful. And that you can dare to put that golden color on your beautiful skin.
PS: For all my silver loving folks, fret not. I am working on bringing you a silver collection. Stay tuned.
Lymurit for Mimi Pambo.
